The Tallest Skyscrapers in Saudi Arabia

Updated 2026-07-07

Saudi Arabia is living through one of the fastest skyscraper-building waves anywhere in the world, driven by Vision 2030 projects and the rapid growth of Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province. The country's tallest towers are spread across five main cities, each with its own architectural character.

This guide ranks the Kingdom's most significant skyscrapers by height, distinguishing completed towers from those still under construction — because some of the very tallest projects have not opened yet.

Jeddah Tower: the first building past one kilometre

Jeddah Tower (formerly Kingdom Tower) tops the list with a planned height of roughly one kilometre, making it — once complete — the first building in history to pass the 1,000-metre mark. It anchors the Jeddah Economic City development north of the city.

Because the tower is still under construction, the tallest actually completed building in the Kingdom remains the Makkah Royal Clock Tower overlooking the Grand Mosque.

Riyadh, Makkah and the Eastern Province

Riyadh has the largest number of skyscrapers in the Kingdom, led by the PIF Tower as the capital's tallest completed building, alongside icons such as the Kingdom Centre and Al Faisaliah Tower. Makkah is defined by the Abraj Al Bait complex around the Grand Mosque, while the Eastern Province is marked by the Gulf-facing towers of Al Khobar and Dammam.
