The Makkah Royal Clock Tower: the Kingdom's tallest completed building

The Makkah Royal Clock Tower leads the city at 601 metres — the tallest completed building in Saudi Arabia, finished in 2012. Its crown carries the largest clock face in the world, visible far across the area around the Grand Mosque.

It anchors the Abraj Al Bait complex, which also includes the ZamZam and Hajar towers, and overlooks the Grand Mosque directly.

The Jabal Omar towers

Alongside the Abraj Al Bait complex, the Jabal Omar development adds modern hotel towers near the Grand Mosque — including the Jumeirah Jabal Omar North and South towers, completed in 2023 — expanding guest capacity around the sanctuary.
